TOPSHOT - Ukrainian serviceman Chas, reloads an anti-aircraft gun as his comrades fire at Russian positions near Bakhmut on March 20, 2023. A small group of old friends has refurbished a 1950s artillery piece to go fight together on the front lines. The six men are firing a Soviet-era 57mm S-60 gun, a piece usually seen at the entrances to large cities on traffic circles or official buildings. "The gun you see here comes from a warehouse. It was stored as scrap metal. So we repaired it, refurbished it and now we use it to protect our native Ukraine," Volodymyr, 37, who commands the artillery unit, told AFP.
