Every year during the wet season, from December to February, trash by the ton washes ashore in the south of the island of Bali. During this time famous beaches for tourists like Kuta and Jimbaran are all covered with plastic trashes. It has been piling up on Bali, fueled by a lack of infrastructure or an official plan to deal with it. Also contributing to bottle and bag were strewn beaches are ingrained cultural practices, and a lack of awareness about the lifecycle of plastic from the disposal, to sea, to washing up on beaches as trash. To cope with this plastic problem there are some people in the effort like ecoBali and Sungai Watch. EcoBali is a company focusing on waste management meanwhile Sungai Watch is a community focusing on river cleanup, they installed a DIY trash catcher on the river to catch trashes before arriving on the beach. - クレジット表記
