ストーリー

Date:DECEMBER 31, 2020, JANUARY 1, 2021 Hundreds of Hong Kong residents celebrated the beginning of the new year on Friday (January 1) with a stroll on the iconic Tsim Sha Tsui harbourfront, despite a heavy police presence enforcing stringent social distancing measures.
Normally the harbour is the centre of a huge firework and light display to mark the new year but this year the festivities were cancelled.
The measures currently in place in Hong Kong to fight the COVID-19 epidemic include a limit on public gatherings of more than two people, and the obligatory closure of all bars and restaurants at 6pm.
Despite the measures, revellers braved the cold weather to take selfies in the Tsim Sha Tsui district, famous for its breathtaking view of the city's skyline across Victoria Harbour.
"I think 2020 was so boring", said a 18-year-old Hong Kong resident, Yankie Chan. "The moment I finished my public exam, I was forced to stay at home. So disappointing."
17-year-old high school student Terence To echoed her feelings. "Everyone is wearing a face mask so they can't see each other's faces. On top of it, there's group gathering limits, two people at most. There's no countdown and fireworks. It's pretty sad."
While the waterfront is normally a public space where residents can linger, chat with friends and bring snacks and drinks, this year the revellers were instructed to avoid standing still and to keep moving.
Large numbers of police were on hand to break up any group larger than two people. The city is also enforcing stringent requirements to wear face masks in public.
